Used to drive to louisiana, now I just play from the couch
#1
For about ten years there my weekend was the same. Load up Saturday morning, drive over to the Lake Charles places, lose track of time and money, drive back Sunday beat. Fun, but the gas and the hotel added up fast.

This past year I basically stopped. Found the sweeps sites and now I just play from the couch in San Antonio with a beer. No casino in Texas, you know that, so for at-home this is the only thing that isn't straight up offshore sketchy.

It's not the same buzz, I'll be honest. No free drinks, no buffet. But I redeemed a small Sweeps Coins balance back to my bank a couple weeks ago and it actually showed up, so that scratched the itch enough.

Anybody else made the switch? Or do y'all still make the drive across the line? Curious if I'm just getting old and lazy.

Play within your means either way.

Getting old and lazy, but in a good way honestly. The drive math never worked for me. Two tanks of gas plus a room is most of a losing session before you even sit down.

One thing I'll push on. People keep calling sweeps the legal option and it kind of is, GC for free play and SC you can redeem, no purchase necessary on paper. But it's a grey zone, not regulated like Jersey. Just go in clear eyed on that and read the redemption terms before you fall in love with a balance.

Coast guy here so my drive was even longer than yours, lol. Gave it up too.

I still miss the room and the noise though. Couch play is convenient but it's a little lonely if I'm honest. boh, maybe that's just me on a slow Sunday.

Made the same switch a while back and started logging every redeem in a little notebook just to keep myself honest. Out of curiosity what rail did your couple weeks ago cashout use, bank ACH? Mine usually lands in 1 to 3 business days on ACH after the first KYC clears, gift card option is faster but the choices are meh.

The key thing nobody warns you about is the first redemption. ID, selfie, proof of address. Once that's done future ones are quick, but the first one feels like opening a bank account.
