The JALT Task-Based Learning (TBL) SIG is a Special Interest Group aimed at teachers who currently use, or are interested in using, task-based approaches in the classroom. In particular, the SIG focuses on issues related to Task-Based Language teaching and learning in the Asian EFL context, where TBLT has yet to enter the mainstream of language pedagogy. We hope that the SIG will serve as a useful forum for the exchange of practical teaching ideas, theoretical discussion, and academic studies of TBLT issues.
SIG activities include:
(i) a regular publication
(ii) a mailing list for members
(iii) an biennial conference
Now in its tenth year, and with a growing membership, the SIG has firmly established itself as a presence in Japan and Asia. If you are interested in becoming a member and/or playing an official role in the management of the JALT TBL SIG please contact us at tbltinasia@gmail.com. We are also looking for written submissions, both theoretical and practical, for our publication. Submissions should be sent to our Publications Chair, at tbltinasia@gmail.com.
